Bar NYLON is a beautiful bar on the edge of the city centre. It boasts a lovely wooden dance floor, reasonable priced drinks, good sound system, air conditioning. Parking is plentiful in the surrounding streets. The resident DJ Dave F plays a mix of New York and Puerto Rican, splashed with Cuban and a hint of Columbian. Always played with the dancer in mind. The music is balanced to allow the beginners to feel comfortable early on in the night with the music hotting up as the night progresses. Just to add to the mixture the standard classes give way to a Rueda Classes on occasions - keep an eye out for postings. As for the dancers, what can I say. They’re the friendliest bunch of people you’d ever want to meet. You’ll never get turned down for a dance - if you do, point the culprit out to me! |
